The Style Doctor x CNDirect

I am excited to announce my collaboration with the fabulous wholesale website CNDirect. Because this is a wholesale site, they are able to offer amazing deals on a wide range of clothing and accessories - way cheaper than other websites or in stores!  I got this turtleneck dress for just $5 and the pink skirt pictured below for $6!! These pieces are so on trend for the up coming winter party season.  I styled the turtleneck dress with a 70's vibe with OOTK boots and a floppy hat.  For the pink skirt, I wanted to do a little leather and lace tough/ girly feel.  Thus, the lacey crop top and leather jacket.  The pieces are so versatile, I've worn them to work as well.  Be sure to shop the links above!  xo

All Black Everything

"Coffee keeps me going 'til it's time for wine"
During my recent trip to Dublin to scout out neighbourhoods for my upcoming move, I managed to fit in a bit of shopping (of course, says you!)  My husband allowed me one hour to hit Grafton Street, so some major speed shopping was in order.  My first stop was BT2 to have a look at the new SS Maje collection and I picked up this black and silver oversized sweater.  I also bought these Cos trousers.  They have an elasticised waist and legs which make them so comfortable.  They are almost like a fancy jogging pant that you can wear to work!  I took these photos outside one of my favourite little artesian food shops in Letterkenny called The Counter.  This bench pretty much sums up my life motto! xo

Culottes

Culottes - cool, or not?? That is the question this spring summer season!  They were seen all over the runway and now they are hitting the high street.  Culottes may initially seem like a tricky trend, but they come in many shapes and sizes and can be found to suit any body type.  But one thing is essential, no matter which type of culottes you prefer - whether they are the shorter, broader type like the ones I am wearing here, or the longer pants like version - heels are a must!!

My whole outfit (bar the blazer which is Zara) was bought recently in Penney's and was a great bargain. I especially love the pop of cobalt blue and the snake skin detailing on the clutch.  Culottes like this would be great for work or even a wedding or afternoon tea. xo

Embroidery

I have been waiting all winter long to encounter the perfect pair of over the knee (OTK) black leather boots, and I finally found them in the form of this pair by Guess.  I am very fussy when it comes to shoes and my perfect pair of boots needed to be flat, pointy toe and made of a good quality leather at an affordable price.  I waited till so late to buy these that I got a great deal 50% off on sale at Fabucci Footwear.

Now let's talk about my coat!  Unfortunately I got it a few years back while on a trip home to California, but how fab is it!? I love the Asian feel with the high collar and embroidery.  It is a unique piece that I will have for years to come. xo

Short Skirt / Long Jacket

I am deadly for window shopping!  When I go to Marks and Spencer for my weekly shop, I have to pass the likes of H&M, River Island and New Look.  They always have the new stock displayed in the window and I am tempted in to have a look!  This week I spotted this skit in the window of H&M and immediately fell in love.  The skirt has a really cool fringe and embroidery detail at the bottom that makes it look like beading.  It looks much more expensive than the 25 euros I paid for it!  It is still freezing outside, so a long jacket was a must, but this skirt will be perfect for warmer weather as well.  It is so versatile, I plan on taking it on my holidays to Ibiza and also wearing it to work with black opaque tights underneath. xo

Time For a Change

I have been wearing the same watch for over 10 years! Granted, it's a great watch. . .timeless, silver and gold so it goes with everything.  But I think we can all agree that it was time for a change!  I recently got this Daniel Wellington watch from Campbell Jewellers and I am just loving it!  The change was long over due!  I am really into a larger faced bold watch at the moment that really grabs your attention and can hold it's own when stacked with multiple bracelets as I tend to wear.  I also love that the strap on this watch can be changed with different coloured stripes or a plain classic brown or black leather strap.  Campbell Jewellers is giving 15% off to all of  my readers for 2 more weeks with the code "thestyledoctor" and they offer free shipping anywhere in Ireland.  Be sure to check out their website in the link above.

PS - How gorgeous is Lough Eske castle behind me?? It is located near Donegal Town.  I went there for high tea, and highly recommend it to anyone who might me in the area.  xo

Winter/ Spring

It's that awkward time of year when it's definatley still winter outside but all the stores are stocking spring clothes.  I am California dreaming - planning holidays and looking forward to longer days and warmer weather.  I picked up this striped dress and hat in H&M.  It's part of the new SS stock and would be great for holidays, but I also wanted to show how I would wear it with black tights, a belt and boots for colder weather.

I partnered with Campbell Jewellers in Dublin on this post and am wearing a Daniel Wellington watch from their store.  I love the rose gold face and the stripey band fit in with the holiday preppy Hampton's vibe I am feeling at the moment.  The great thing about Daniel Wellington watches is the variety of interchangable straps you can get in both striped fabric or leather.  I am excited to announce that Campbell Jewellers will be giving all my readers a 15% off discount on all purchases for the next 30 days (great before Valentines day, hint hint!).  Just use my code "thestyledoctor" on their website. xo

Birds of a Feather

Who doesn't love a good statement coat?  Mostly I've been wearing faux fur this winter, but this ostrich feather jacket from www.minusey.com is a fun and unique way to mix things up a bit!  The coat is so soft and fluffy and the feathers blow in the breeze and move when you walk - I just love it!  I kept the rest of my outfit simple to really let the jacket shine.  The mixed metal chain necklace is new from River Island.  I really like wearing silver and gold together for a chic look. xo

Side Slits and a Fringe

Well, it's only a few weeks into January and I'm back to my monochrome ways!  It's a well known fact that New Years resolutions don't last very long. . .When it comes to fashion, it makes sense to stick to a tried and true formula that works for your body type while staying true to your personal style.  That being said, it's fun to try new things and push the boundaries out as well!  I bought this sweater at Cos last week in Dublin.  It's part of the new collection and a great way to transition into the spring while staying warm.  I love the unique buttons down the side that you can wear open or closed for layering.  xo

Pleated Leather

I'm sure you may have noticed by now that one of my staple styles is high waisted skirts, crop tops and anything monochrome.  This is a fashion formula that just seems to work for me every time.  Keeping the neckline high and the hemline long ensures the look stays classy.  I recently braved the icy roads to make a shopping trip down to Dublin and I picked up this leather look skirt in Top Shop.  It's part of the new SS15 collection.  I am so over the sales at this stage as they never have my size left in stock and everything is picked through. The stores were full of gorgeous SS clothes, so let's hope this weather lifts soon! xo

Capes and Plaid

I took these pictures a few days ago before snow blanketed Ireland and you could still wear clothes like these without absolutely freezing to death!  I got this high waisted Sandro skirt in the sales at Brown Thomas.  It's super versatile and I am going to wear it to work with a smart collared shirt and also on  nights out with a crop top.  On this occasion, I paired it with a cropped sweater and cape to keep warm.  xo

Double Dressing

Up here in Donegal, after a mild December winter has finally kicked in and we are getting a few snow flurries and high winds.  But I am sick of wearing pants all the time so today I wore two dresses doubled up on top of each other for warmth.  The longer green dress is a light weight silk dress and I topped it off with a sweater dress, scarf and beanie hat, because baby, it's cold outside!!  Most of the items I am wearing are purchased recently and are now available in the sales.  xo

Fresh Princess

Happy new year everyone! As one of my resolutions, I would like to try to incorporate more colour into my wardrobe. . .starting after this outfit post!  I decided to call this look "Fresh Princess" because it reminds me a lot of my childhood in the early 90's growing up and watching "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" on TV.  If anyone else remembers and loves that show as much as I do, then you will know what I am talking about! The faux fur coat is very princessey like Hilary, while the Isabel Marant high tops and crop top are a bit more funky like Will.  This outfit is a great laid back alternative to a dress or skirt for going out.  And I must say the coat was a steal in Penney's for only 40 euros and looks much more expensive! xo

Cosy

I am so lucky to have the holiday season off work to enjoy friends, family, food and of course. . . the after Christmas sales!!  My family and I made the 6 hour car journey down from Donegal to Cork and let me just say that it was worth it because the shopping here is on point!  I picked up some great pieces and I can't wait to share them with you.

My close friend and fellow blogger Irish Fashaholic and I caught up over lunch and couldn't help but take a few outfit snaps of each other as you do! This over sized sweater I picked up in the Zara sale is most probably the coziest thing I have ever owned.  To prevent it from looking too mumsy, I paired it with these hot Zara boots (also from the sale!), and very comfy, I might add! Happy shopping and be sure to check out www.irishfashaholic.blogspot.ie  xo

Teal Appeal

Everyone needs a good winter coat. . .or two, or three, for that matter!  This Bastyan teal alpaca coat is one of my favourites.  I bought it on sale last January for half price and it was a great steal!  The lapels have leather detailing and the coat itself is so soft as its made from alpaca fur.  I will definately be picking up a new coat in the after Christmas sales again this year, it's the best time to pick up pricey quality items at a bargain.  Stay warm  people! xo

Festive

Last night I went out for a work Christmas party.  I love this time of year, because people always put in extra effort to be social and I get to and mix in lots of different circles.  It's also an excuse to get the glad rags on and who doesn't love that!?! Unfortunately this year the theme of the party was Xmas jumpers.  I didn't have an Xmas jumper, nor did I want to go out and purchase one that I knew I didn't like and would never wear again.  Thus, this outfit was born.  I decided to wear this red  silk top with a bow because I thought it was a bit festive and looked like a Christmas gift.  I paired it with a light pink leather look high waisted skirt that I just bought in River Island and a Penney's faux fur coat that kept me really warm! Enjoy the holiday season! xo
