Mom Jeans

Sooo. . . . I'm a mom and I wear jeans - usually skinny jeans, or cropped jeans, sometimes boyfriend jeans . . But what about "Mom Jeans"?  That term used to classify a high waisted, slightly baggy, faded denim that was favoured by moms in the 1980s, and wasn't particularly flattering.  Well, let me tell you that mom jeans are back!  I have been seeing them everywhere, but mostly on the likes of models and super bloggers in the world of Instagram.  I was tempted to try this new brand of mom jeans - and here are the results on a sunny day in the park.  I'm not sure I like them really??  What do you guys think?? xo

Silver Sparkle

This past weekend I was back in Cork, my adoptive home town, for my sis-in-law's baby shower.  Looking out at the beautiful River Lee, I truly felt that I left my heart in Cork. . .Dublin may be the Capitol, and have a lot to offer, but at the end of the day, home is where your friends and family are.

I wore this gorgeous silver sequin skirt that I got a few months back on sale from Lavish Alice.  It was all about the silver sparkle with this outfit as I also wore my new Prada loafers and this Mirina Collections necklace.  You can get 20% off on tons of amazing necklaces on the Mirina Collections website using my code sarahxoxo2.

Black and Red

New year, new me?  Well, maybe not. . . I don't believe in New Year's resolutions, they seem to set one up for failure.  However, I do like the idea of starting afresh (especially after the indulgence the holiday season!) I recently met my good friend and fellow blogger Emer from Irish Fashaholic at 37 Dawson Street in Dublin.  I dressed casual for a few drinks and appetisers in my new Zara blazer from the sales and a scarf for a pop of colour. We brought our kiddies along, and my son Liam popped his head out as I was trying to take a photo, spoiling my "super cool" look :)  Hahaha! See if you can spot him. . . Happy new year everyone! xo

Shady Lady

Last weekend my family and I soaked up the last of the Indian summer and enjoyed the walled gardens at Marlay Park in Rathfarnam in Dublin.  These gardens are so beautiful and free to the public, you can bring a picnic or eat at the cafe and spend the day there.  It was the perfect backdrop to do a little photo shoot for this new top and faux leather skirt I bought recently from Sisley in Dundrum Centre.  I love the little fringe detail on the top, it elevates an ordinary plain white T-shirt.  I will be wearing lots of leather and faux leather (depending on my budget!) this season as well!  How about you? xo

A Little Bit Rustic

Can you believe I have never been to Dundrum town centre before? I went there last week for the first time and found the perfect turtle neck - this light weight striped number from Massimo Dutti.  Turtle necks are going to be huge this season, but it's too bad I decided to wear one on the warmest day of September in 17 degree weather.  I was sweating as we went for a walk in these beautiful rustic surroundings.  Enjoy the lovely weekend, and this unexpected Indian summer xo

Indian Summer

Today I went exploring in County Wexford for the first time since I've lived in Ireland for the past 11 years.  This country keeps on surprising me with all of it's natural beauty, quaint towns and great local produce and restaurants.  Today we went to Greystones and ate at The Happy Pear which was really healthy and tastey!  Our walk on the beach did get rained out a bit, but I still managed to snap a few pics of my outfit. . . I recently bought these pleather culottes at Zara and they are on point for the A/W season.  Culottes can be hard to wear and they're not everyones cup of tea, but I like to experiment with different trends.  What do you guys think - would you rock culottes? xo

Geometry

It's mid-August, and summer has finally arrived to Ireland!  It's good to be alive and in such a vibrant city like Dublin.  On sunny days, after work I want to make the most of the day and head into the city's parks for some sun and relaxation. . .The kids love it too, there are so many great parks here!

Alas, autumn is just around the corner and the shops are starting to stock the A/W collections, which I am super excited about!  I just had a bit of a haul from Zara which included this top.  I love the colour burgundy for autumn.  This top also has cool velvet details that don't come out well in the pictures.  Enjoy the sun everyone! xo

Bugging Out

Today I wore a shirt dress from River Island and a few vintage bug brooches to quirk it up a bit.  I don't like real bugs and I'm terrified of spiders.  I like my creepy crawlies faux and bejeweled!  xo

Summertime Blues

I've got the summertime blues. . .or more like the lack of summertime blues! It's the June bank holiday weekend and still no sunshine.  I got these really comfy blue paisley printed cotton pants from Penney's to wear on the airplane for my holidays and they were just so comfortable I haven't taken them off since.  I'm also currently obsessed with my new Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and this vest from River Island.  Hope you all have a great weekend and fingers crossed for some sunshine xo
