Avoca is Gooood!!

My quest to learn more about my new county- Dublin, took me today to Avoca in Monkstown.  Prior to moving here, all I really knew of Dublin was Grafton Street and Temple Bar, and believe me, these can get boring fast!!  There's too many crowds and tourists.  It was refreshing today to go to this amazingly quaint seaside village.  Avoca has the best food - as you can see in the picture below!  Now that I live in Dublin and my rent is astronomical, I will be recycling a lot of my old clothes on the blog. . .Here's a fun new way to create a new look with one of your old scarves - belt it and turn it into a vest.  xo

Crop Tops and Cool Walls

I visited my Cork last weekend for the first time in 6 months and man, I love that city!  Cork is my second home (after Cali) and I lived there for 10 years.  It felt so good to be back and walk all those familiar streets.  I got a chance to eat at my favourite vegetarian restaurant Cafe Paradiso for an early birthday celebration.  Then we hit the town!  I wore a crop top and high waisted pants along with my favourite leather jacket and new Mansur Gavriel bucket bag.  xo
PS - how cool is this wall!

Goodbye Donegal

The time has come to leave Donegal, and I am very sad. . .Tomorrow, after spending a year in Letterkenny, we will be packing up the moving van and heading for Dublin.  This county is so beautiful, with gorgeous national parks and some of the best beaches in the world.  I firmly believe that when you live somewhere, you leave a little piece of your heart there and it will be with your forever. . . .I shot this last look for the blog in a town called Ramelton. So farewell Donegal, it's been real. . . Until we meet again xo

Stripes// Leather// Chanel

I was in Dublin recently and took the chance to do a bit of shopping and exercise the credit card. . . I have completed my first year on the Specialist Registrar (Geriatric Medicine) training scheme and am one year closer to becoming a Consultant physician (woohoo!)  So, naturally I took the opportunity to reward myself with these amazing new Chanel brogues. I am a firm believer in rewarding oneself at all opportunities ;)  I had seen the gold version of these shoes on a lot of bloggers online, but these navy and black brogues are understated and way more my style.  Shoes and bags are most definitely my weakness xo

Bugging Out

Today I wore a shirt dress from River Island and a few vintage bug brooches to quirk it up a bit.  I don't like real bugs and I'm terrified of spiders.  I like my creepy crawlies faux and bejeweled!  xo

Summertime Blues

I've got the summertime blues. . .or more like the lack of summertime blues! It's the June bank holiday weekend and still no sunshine.  I got these really comfy blue paisley printed cotton pants from Penney's to wear on the airplane for my holidays and they were just so comfortable I haven't taken them off since.  I'm also currently obsessed with my new Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and this vest from River Island.  Hope you all have a great weekend and fingers crossed for some sunshine xo

Ibiza Style Diary: Part 2

I've been back from holidays now for a few weeks, the tan is starting to fade and I'm beginning to get used to the fact that the log awaited Irish summer is just not going to kick in!  So it's about time to revisit these pictures of sunnier climes and dream of a tropical paradise!  My Ibiza style diary part 2 focuses on my night time outfits.  Since I have kids and went to Ibiza out of season, before the clubbing scene kicks off in late May we mainly relaxed at night, had a nice meal and a few drinks and were fairly sensible.  I really loved the old town - the cobble stone streets and white washed buildings transported me back to another time.  Early May also hosts the Midevil Festival and there was a carnival atmosphere with street performers and artesian craft booths.

Now for my outfits!   I mainly wore relaxed light fitting pants and jumpsuits, nothing too dressed up or fancy.  I loved this Jumpsuit from Next, it was less than 30 euros.  I packed a few dressier options as well, but didn't even get a chance to wear them.  For shoes, I wore flats or wedges because we walked everywhere- what better way to see a new place than walking! Next time I won't even pack the heels!  Happy travels xo
